Training after christmas

Christmas has once again come and gone and many of us, myself included, are feeling full of chocolate, sweets, or other Christmas goodies, not to mention those that may have had more than the usual amount of alcohol.

It’s not easy to get motivated again after Christmas but here’s the thing, you can either get results or make excuses…. you can’t have both, so you need to find a way to get up and go training. The good thing for you though is that this isn’t like a place where nobody cares. We care and so does everyone you train with, this might be just the pick me up that you need.

So, what am I trying to say?

It’s simple, all you need to do is start training again and you’ll soon start feeling the benefits again.

Remember that MAC has also started the 30-day challenge, which is a fantastic way of motivating yourself.

Take the challenge and show yourself what you can do

There is also a hidden gem that you may not have thought of in the past, realisation of how far you have come. You may feel, even for a brief moment, how it was when you first joined. Whatever those feelings are you also know now that it is only a temporary feeling and one that can be overcome. This also means that all those feelings of accomplishment that you once gained can once again be felt and harnessed.

A few tips

  • Don’t expect to be able to do everything from the first moment – you will be able to regain all your hard-earned skill and achievement but don’t think the Christmas break hasn’t had an effect on you.
  • Drink plenty of water – you’ll feel a lot better if you get back into the habit of drinking water, it will also open up energy stores within your body.
  • Remind yourself – the achievements you earned in the past were well earnt and you should remind yourself of how far you have come so far, and how much more you can achieve.
  • Find new motivation – the more motivation you find the better, motivation is better than an excuse
  • And most importantly…… enjoy yourself, remember…….

The time will pass anyway.

You can either spend it creating the life you want or living a life you don’t.

The choice is yours.
